Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professionally-known title Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st October of 2016 she debuted Pho which was her first EP released on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, she debuted additional music on the internet including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. In the following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him for some references for Rihanna. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been hired by Dreamville Records. She appeared in the album collaboration Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer in support of J. Cole on his single Change in the year 2017 and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she performed as a guest artist on two tracks with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream From the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. She dropped her follow-up single, Grampa on November 9. On November 13 two singles that were titled No One and Pedigree. Later, she was featured as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album the same title. The track was supported by an accompanying music video that debuted on February 20 2019 and was viewed by 3 million people on YouTube within its first seven days. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
